A good festive wardrobe isn't built by accumulating options for every possible event. It's built around a small number of pieces chosen deliberately enough that each one earns repeat wear — a silk that works for both a daytime ceremony and, styled differently, an evening reception; a color that photographs well across the lighting of three different venues.
